Best in Profession – 2016
13.06.2016The competition “Best in Profession” was organized for the first time in Berezniki and Usolie between specialists from three EuroChem companies: Usolsky Potash Combine, Ural-remstroyservice and Berezniki mechanical works. 44 workers participated in this competition.
Production workshops of the companies and constructed site of Usolsky Potash Combine were the main competition areas. Maintenance mechanics, electricians for equipment maintenance and repair, turners, electric and gas welders and drivers (car and trucks) competed for the title of the best expert. Competition included both theoretical and practical tasks simulating actual working conditions to the maximum extent.
Competitors were evaluated by a panel of specialists and heads of the departments of the companies. Skills evaluation included both theoretical right answers and safe performance of high quality. Furthermore, the jury also estimated the level of independent work and speed of work completion.
Drivers, for example, passed the tests “track”, “circle work”, “side parking”, “forward and reverse snake”, demonstrating their skills and professionalism. Electricians assembled lighting switchboard in 15 minutes, maintenance mechanics had one hour to complete three tasks: measurement, marking and thread cutting of the detail.
- Tasks are complex with no doubt. Even experienced drivers may find it difficult to complete and show high level of professionalism, - said one of the participants, Aleksey Bychkov, driver of 6th grade of OOO Ural-remstroyservice. – I was confident in myself, tried to hide emotions that probably helped me to pass the task in 1 minute 57 seconds, showing the best time. I am so excited that we have such a tradition to organize the skill competition in our company. Both young specialists and experienced workers still have some way to go and strive for! While jury was summarizing the results specialists were involved in team building activities: skateboarding, playing darts and tugging the rope.
- I really liked the competition organization, - said BMZ electrical and gas welder, Lubov Zueva, the only female participant of professional skill competition. – At first sight work of the electric and gas welder seems to be a strictly masculine occupation, but I really like my job, I also wanted to show what I’ve learned for 10 years as a professional. Anyway, such competitions increase the interest to one’s work and constantly improve professional skills and knowledge.
As a result of the competition six specialists were nominated as “Best in profession”: Pael Butorin as “Best Maintenance mechanic”, Evgeniy Davletshin as “Best Electrician”, Sergey Bayanding as “Best Turner”, Roman Ryshkov as “Best Electrical and gas welder”, Sergey Kusnetcov as “Best Car driver” and Igor Gorbenko as “Best Truck driver”. All winners received certificates, gifts, additional monetary payments and personal helmets with label “Best in the Profession” as a remarkable contest attribute.
